In a pivotal move, the Maharashtra government has made it compulsory for all colleges in the state to undergo NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) grading. This strategic decision aims to enhance the quality of higher education and ensure accountability. Colleges will now be rigorously assessed, promoting excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
The department has developed a three-step methodology to enforce this rule. First, it will send a notice to the colleges. Then, it will publish a list of non-NAAC-graded colleges on university websites.
