New Delhi, Sep 16 (UNI) Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' on Wednesday said that education strengthened by the power of the country's youth and the proposed provisions of the new National Education Policy 2020 will contribute significantly in making India a global power.
Dr Pokhriyal, while addressing the meeting of coordinators of National Cadet Corps (NCC), National Service Scheme (NSS) and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) here said, "India has more than 65 per cent population below 35 years of age and is the youngest country today. The fourth industrial revolution that we talk about depends on the youth. With such a large young population and our dominance in the services sector (which accounts for about 55 per cent of the total GDP), knowledge becomes a major factor in our economy. To get the power of this knowledge, we have started Mahayagya, Maha Anusandhan like National Education Policy."
