The University Grants Commission (UGC) has unveiled new draft guidelines aimed at enhancing the authentication process of foreign degrees. The proposed guidelines emphasize the exclusion of degrees earned through online or distance learning modes. This strategic move seeks to maintain the prestige and quality of recognized foreign qualifications.
The regulations will not be applicable to “professional qualifications awarded by foreign educational institutions” in disciplines such as Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Law, and Architecture”, the draft guidelines stated
